When one of the most popular TV hosts approaches you and asks if it’s ok to film a fishing episode in your beautiful backyard, you know you’ve hit the jackpot.
We’ve always said the fishing around here is something else, so when Rob Paxevanos, aka The Fishing Guy from the popular TV show “Fishing Australia”, made that call, we were very excited to show off what the Clarence Valley really has to offer.
Rob and his team spent 6 days travelling through the region, fishing our river and catching big ones on a local fishing charter while staying at one of our favourite Clarence Coast Holiday Parks, Iluka Riverside.
The Clarence Valley episode of Fishing Australia premiered on Nine Network November 2022. Watch the full episode below!
"The Clarence Valley has easily been one of the best destinations I have filmed in 22 years of Hosting Fishing Australia.
The incredible size of the river and it’s islands was eye opening, even for me. The Fishing options are impressive from Freshwater and Estuaries to Beach, Rocks and Ocean.
Most impressive of all was the size and number of fish without even traveling far from the seaside towns of Iluka and Yamba. This is easily the best fishing in NSW for Bream, Flathead and the (usually) hard to catch Mulloway.
There’s also some incredible charter boat options if you wish to tangle with Snapper, Tuna and Marlin. I am looking forward to airing this episode to locals plus fans across the state and country.
I can’t believe I haven’t filmed here before…I really didn’t want to go home, I’ll be back to explore more of this region that’s for sure."
