Rocky Point marks the northern flank of Minnie Water’s amazing stretch of beach.
From out on the end of Rocky Point, you can see north to Illaroo and further up to Sandon in the distance. Tempting tracks wind off into the foreshore scrub to take you along the escarpment to Illaroo.
Looking south from Rocky Point gives a great view back along the curve towards Minnie Waters main beach.
Swimming immediately off or around Rocky Point isn’t advisable, (unless it’s of the rock pool variety) and why would you, when a few hundred metres up the beach you can swim directly in front of the local Surf Life Saving Club.
Surfers can find reasonable beach breaks between Rocky Point and the surf club, particularly on a modest easterly swell, on a mid to high tide.
